Let these people know how much you enjoyed the show!
Ron Long, Handel
Ron is excited to be back at Fringe with this one man show that he has written and produced. The idea for Handel: The Musical! came from reading an Encyclopedia about LGBTQ2 artists, musicians and composers. There is no direct proof that Handel was a homosexual, but the circumstantial evidence definitately points to it. Recent performances for Ron include Harvey Milk in I Am Harvey Milk. Monica Roberts, Director
Monica is excited to step into her new roll directing Handel- The Musical. From an early age Monica was comfortable telling people what to do and where to go and directing Ron seems to flow naturally from that. Monica has a B.F.A from University of Windsor and is Co-Creator of Round Barn Productions. Monica has appeared in lots of local theatre round town including Shout! – The Mod Musical and Putting It Together for Round Barn. Monica is inspired by her daughter and hopes to have her to follow her dreams and do what brings her joy. Her one piece of advice to her daughter? “Choose people who choose you.”
Julia Davis, Music Director
Born and raised in Edmonton, Julia started her musical journey on the piano 25 years ago(!), and has since explored other instrumental possibilities, including organ, viola, voice, handbells, saxophone, trombone, French horn, to name a few. Over the years, she has received a number of awards from music festivals and has competed as a national finalist in the Canadian Music Competitions. You may have seen Julia at McDougall United Church, where she served as organist from 2010 to 2016. You may have also seen Julia as your friendly neighbourhood pharmacist. Now, she wears a third hat, as a first-time mom to a chatty baby. Julia loves chamber music and making music with others, and she continues to perform with the lovely people in the Edmonton classical music scene on piano, organ, and viola.
